Visa information
General Eligibility Requirements
- Visa Category: Tier 5 (T5) Temporary Work - Government Authorized Exchange visa is designed for undergraduates and graduates to gain experience in the UK.
- Sponsorship: Must be sponsored by a licensed employer related to the intern’s work area.
Visa Application Process
- Certificate of Sponsorship: Obtain a certificate from your employer with a contract start date.
- Application Timing: Apply up to 3 months before your work start date.
- Visa Duration: Up to 12 months, with the ability to enter the UK up to 14 days before your job starts.
Visa Costs and Duration
- Visa Fee: As of the last update, the fee for the T5 visa is approximately £244. However, fees are subject to change, and applicants should verify the current cost with the UK Visas and Immigration services.
- Healthcare Surcharge: Applicants may also be required to pay a healthcare surcharge as part of the application.
- Visa Validity: Allows for a stay in the UK for the duration of the internship, up to 12 or 24 months depending on the scheme.
