Entrepreneurship Internship

The Asian market is a prime place to begin your start-up. Start-ups with great ideas are receiving a lot more support from Asian governments. Also, Asia’s unique cultures and lifestyles provide opportunities to grow yourself both culturally and from a work perspective. Join the highly international and dynamic environment of the Asian start-up scene and use this chance to develop your CV and get an insight into this world.

If you are ambitious and motivated, this internship is for you. Being an entrepreneur means you are ready to be creative and willing to do more than a regular 9 to 5 job. Successful start-ups are the movers and shakers of the industry, with the likes of UBER revolutionizing our lifestyle and Rovio’s Angry Birds changing our perception of gaming.

As a start-up ourselves, we are naturally connected to many other start-ups and find you the most suitable one. We will provide you a position at a reputable start-up that will provide you experience without the exploitation. The range of tasks you will be assigned varies on the start-up company you will be interning for.

Past AIP Entrepreneurship interns have been involved and worked on the following projects:

  • Updating various databases such as grievance logs, applicant flows, HRIS, etc.
  • Assisting in daily treasury operations, compliance requirements, and working with general ledger accounts.
  • Working with information technology and functional business areas to develop and promote web use, development, and publishing knowledge and expertise.
  • Creating sales presentations to current customers and prospects for new businesses and opportunities.
  • Coordinating special events, media relations, and marketing plans.

Note that all AIP interns are given a personal supervisor who will train, monitor and guide you throughout your international internship experience.

Internship tasks will vary from company to company, as well as intern to intern. These are only examples of tasks that were carried out from previous interns.

  • Sales Management: This has to do with building a sales force, planning, overseeing and coordinating sales operations, as well as implementing sales strategies with the aim of consistently hitting and exceeding the sales targets of a firm.

Marketing Management: As an organizational discipline, marketing management places its focus on the efficient management of a firm’s marketing activities and resources, as well as on the practical application of various marketing techniques and orientation inside organizations and enterprises.

AIP Entrepreneurship Internship Benefits

Doing an international entrepreneurship internship is one of the best steps an aspiring entrepreneur can take in preparation for their future career. It is a golden opportunity for you to work with, and learn from, established and knowledgeable entrepreneurs who have already experienced the ins and outs of business ventures.

While working with these successful entrepreneurs, you will have the chance to build/widen your network; and, just like in many other industries, a strong network can prove very valuable to a young professional in entrepreneurship. The knowledge/experience you will acquire during the internship and the support you will gain from your network can help you avoid mistakes and achieve your career goals faster.

An entrepreneurship internship in Asia will bring you in contact with many promising start-up companies, established companies and entrepreneurial social ventures, while you work in a fast-paced environment and acquire the competencies and skills necessary for a successful entrepreneurship career, such as public relations, finance, and business development skills.

During your internship with AIP, you will get to play various roles and perform many real-world tasks such as market research, helping small business owners streamline their daily operations, drafting professional business plans for clients, etc. And while performing these and many other tasks, you will develop the confidence to take initiatives and make effective business decisions; the ability to assess a business situation, identify problems or opportunities, evaluate risks, and formulate a suitable plan of action; and a creative/innovative mindset which enables an entrepreneur to create more value for a firm’s products and services.

The Demand for Experienced Entrepreneurs Worldwide

Because they help in enhancing the standard of living for everyone through innovative products and services, and in creating enabling conditions for a progressive society, experienced entrepreneurs have always been sought after by institutions and individuals in most parts of the world.

Today, unlike several years ago, entrepreneurship is a buzzword in business schools, and a compulsory element on the MBA curriculum. Big companies are now beginning to realize, more than ever before, the importance of having employees who are well-trained in entrepreneurship, especially now that digital technology is transforming the way business is done. In fact, the discipline has become very fashionable and popular, and many young professionals all over the world are opting for it.

The current trend involves companies employing “intrapreneurs,” professionals who act like entrepreneurs and are able to drive change within a firm while breaking through institutional bureaucracy and inertia. In addition, businesses now want schools to teach entrepreneurship, not just for those who desire to start up their own company, but also to create intrapreneurs who are adaptable, persistent and capable of bringing innovation to an organization.

The Role of Entrepreneurship in an Economy

In many countries of the world, entrepreneurs are regarded as valuable national assets and the backbone of any flourishing economy because they are major job creators. According to the world’s largest not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), every single entrepreneur has the potential to create approximately 30 jobs.

When it comes to wealth creation and distribution, entrepreneurs, when they establish a business entity, invest their resources while attracting capital from lenders, investors, and the public in general. Thus, public wealth is mobilized and people are able to benefit from these businesses when they become successful.

By establishing businesses and industrial units in less developed communities, entrepreneurs also contribute to regional development because the growth of these businesses usually brings about infrastructural improvements in the host regions.

So, taking these few roles as an example, it goes without saying that entrepreneurship is one of the most important contributors to the economic development of a country.
