What the internship is about
Video interns join production houses, creative agencies, hotel and travel brands, and the content teams of startups. You help on shoots as a camera or lighting assistant, film interviews and events, then edit in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, add graphics in After Effects and cut long pieces into vertical clips for TikTok and Instagram. Photography hosts add product and lifestyle shoots, with retouching in Lightroom.
A week might include one or two shoot days and three days in the edit, with client feedback in between. Thailand and Singapore are our strongest destinations, followed by Malaysia and Indonesia. Bring a laptop that can handle editing.

What you'll get out of it
Help plan shoots, take photos and edit them in Lightroom and Photoshop. You learn lighting, composition and retouching while working to a client's brief, and build a portfolio you can show.
Learn to plan and film video, then edit picture and sound in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. You follow a story from the first storyboard to a finished cut that goes out to an audience.
Work on projects that capture different cultures, cities and landscapes. You come home with an international portfolio shot in places most of your classmates have never filmed.

What will I do on a video production internship?
You'll help shoot and edit videos and photos for brands, agencies or media companies. Tasks can include filming, editing, sorting footage and preparing content for social media.
Do I need experience to get a video production internship?
You don't need a degree, but a portfolio or showreel helps a lot.
What skills and tools will I use?
Common tools include Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom or DaVinci Resolve. Bring your own laptop that can handle editing; a camera is a bonus but not always needed.

Programs start from $2,050 for 6 weeks on Explorer, depending on where you go. Most internships are unpaid.
