Summer Internship in Tokyo
Situated at the head of Tokyo Bay on the Pacific coast of central Honshu, Tokyo is the capital city of Japan with a population of more than 37 million people. Its metropolitan area spans 13,452 square kilometres making it the most populous city in the world. Previously known as Edo, Tokyo is the largest metropolitan economy in the world and is one of the country’s prefectures.
In the world’s most populous city, transportation is as good as it gets with a variety of transportation means to get you from one place to another. The first means of getting around town is through the use of trains from buses to water buses, taxis and ubers. The best way to get around the city is through the use of subways and trains as Tokyo’s transport system is cleverly divided into different urban nodes like Shinjuku, Shibuya or Roppongi to name a few. It is best to buy a prepaid Suica or Pasmo card to pay for transportation in Tokyo.
When it comes to the industries that are dominant in Tokyo; IT, Manufacturing and Finance tend to be the biggest in the city. Tokyo reached its status of being the city that generates the most GDP as a result of its strong economy and finance sector. The city also grew tremendously after the second world war as a result of its manufacturing industry, and lastly, its IT sector is a leading industry driving the country’s economy. These are popular industry choices for a Tokyo internship.

Thank you AIP!
I desperately needed an internship to complete my degree. I tried looking for internships on my own but with no success. Luckily, I came across AIP. I applied on their website, sent my CV, and the next thing I know I was being interviewed by one of their admin. Everyone has been so nice and helpful throughout the whole process. They sent many great offers until I finally found the right fit for me. They guided me through processing my visa and not long after I was on a flight to Japan! The whole process was really smooth and quick. During my time in Japan, I met so many great people, experienced their wonderful culture, and gained hands-on work experience that I will always remember. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of it without the help of the wonderful staff of AIP!

Exactly what I expected!
It's been amazing having the experience to do an internship in the very place that I dreamt of ever since I was a kid. It's not every day that I'm presented with this type of opportunity and the moment it was shown, I took it without ever looking back. Things clicked easily seeing that I'm doing an exchange here in Japan and with the pandemic happening, online classes became a thing and so did remote work. The experience was amazing and although new, very efficient.

Safe and sound!
Currently finishing up my 6 month internship program in Japan from AIP and since it's almost done, it's safe to say that everything has been going well so far and has lived up to my expectations, maybe even higher. I was able to escape the whole lockdown and arrived back safe in my country, however, it wasn't the end of my internship since AIP helped me keep my internship intact. I'm looking forward to going back to Japan!
